Last February, Dr. Simone was invited to give a talk at the Lousada Secondary School as part of an initiative organized by the school to raise awareness for World Cancer Day. Dr. Simone has extensive experience in oncology research: she has worked on this topic for most of her academic career before switching gears to synapse biology. She talked about different types of cancer to the young audience and her presentation was very well received!
